We're back, stronger and bigger than ever!  Here's the challenge you have been waiting for.  It's time once again to transform your body into the body of your dreams.  The Body Transformation Challenge here at AdvancingMan.com has helped many people get into shape and achieve the body they've always wanted.

It is no accident that you are reading this.  Maybe you have just started on your path to greater health, or perhaps you are an experienced weight lifter who has reached a plateu in your training.  For whatever reason, this challenge will help you reach beyond your current limits.  Remember, no matter where we are at, we can always improve.  Growth is a fact of life.  If you are not growing, you are not living.

What is the body transformation challenge?

The first Body Transformation Challenge began with the question:  "How can we get our loved ones to take control of their physical health?"  You see, everyone we know wants a better body, wants to be more healthy, wants to look good and feel great.  Oddly enough, everyone also realizes the way to achieve this is through training and dieting.  Yet, why do people consistently fail to achieve these goals? 

Well, we realized there were two main issues people struggle with:  motivation and dedication.  We knew that in order to get people started and committed to improving their health, we had to give them a good reason to do so and provide a support system that would keep them dedicated. 

As a result, the Body Transformation Challenge was born.  BTC is more than a fitness contest.  The main goal is and always will be to provide an incentive and to develop a community for like minded individuals who wish to take control of and improve their physical health.  First and foremost, we want to provide an incentive for our friends to improve their health.  We realize how difficult it can be to take that first step toward a goal.  So what better way to motivate people than with money?  Also, we understand that without support it is tough to stay dedicated and on track with your goals.  Therefore, our second priority is to develop a community that would allow us to constantly track and progress our results and keep each other motivated and educated.

Who is eligible?

The Body Transformation Challenge is absolutely free and open to everyone who wishes to improve their physical health.

Prizes

As with all previous Body Transformation Challenges, it is completely free to enter.  To keep the challenge interesting, we accept and appreciate all forms of donations for prizes to be awarded to the most inspiring winners.  Here is a breakdown of the winners we will be recognizing:

  • One grand team winner
  • First place individual winner
  • Second place individual winner
  • Third place individual winner

For people wishing to donate a monetary value, we will be using paypal to accept your kind contribution.  The idea behind this is that in the past, we had difficulty acquiring the monies.  Remember, all donations go back to you guys.  I keep no amount for myself.  Think of the donation as motivation for yourself to finally achieve the health and fitness you've always wanted.  Hey, if you're going to win then you won't lose out on the money!  Even if you don't win, you've helped another person better their life!  It's a win-win proposition.  With that being said, I pledge to start the donation with $200.

Introducing team challenges

New for BTC III will be the incorporation of teams.  Now every contestant will be part of a 4 person team.  If you do not have enough people to form a team, we will place people for you from the contestant pool.  Ideally, try your best to have at least one female member in your team.  We will have one team winner.

The goal for having teams in this BTC is to try to get more people to successfully finish the 90 day challenge.  In the past two challenges, we had a high percentage of contestants who were unable to complete the full trial.  I think being a member of a team will help you do better in the challenge by increasing your accountability, motivation and drive.  You will be less likely to get behind if you know that you will be letting not only yourself down, but your team members as well.

Dates to remember

  • The official start date is Monday, April 5th.  
  • The official end date is July 4th.  

We will begin accepting submissions for entry on March 29th.  The earlier you sign up, the longer you get to do the challenge.  This is a bonus for early applicants.  An extra week of training can make a huge difference. 

There is no hard closing date for accepting applications.  You can enter the challenge any time during the competition.  However, the later you turn in your application, the shorter your period of training will be, which will put you at a disadvantage.

There is a hard deadline to send in your ending submissions which is Sunday, July 11 at 11:59 pm.  This date is firm.  Do not miss this deadline.  There will be no allowances.

How to enter

  1. Create a user account at http://www.advancingman.com/user.   If you already have an account, you can skip this step.
  2. Create a Personal Training Journal by posting a new forum topic at http://www.advancingman.com/forum/body-transformation-challenge/btc-iii.
  3. Take four before photos.  Guys in shorts, girls in bikinis
    • Full body front, relaxed pose holding a piece of paper with the words, "AdvancingMan.com BTC III."
    • Full body rear, relaxed pose
    • Full body side, relaxed pose
    • 1 flexed pose of your choice.  I.e. double front biceps, most muscular pose or back.  You may submit extra poses of your choice, but ONE is required.
  4. Take before measurments
  5.  In your Personal Training Journal, post a reply with your before photos and measurements.  Read this post on how to post your photos.  
  6. *If you wish not to post your photos online, you may submit your photos directly to me at profusionz(at)gmail.com.  However, we may use your photos for voting purposes and if you were to win, for publicity use.

  7. Create a Team Training Journal by posting a new forum topic at http://www.advancingman.com/forum/body-transformation-challenge/btc-iii.  In your team journal, include the names of the people in your team.  Use this journal to communicate with other members of your team.  Alternatively, you can use this journal in lieu of your Personal Training Journal if your team wishes to do that.  However, you still need a personal journal for your before and after submissions.
  8. If there are members without teams, we will try our best to place you in a team.
